The majority of the tools I have used by teaching myself, and I am expecting you to do the same. In most instances it is as simple as reading and following the instructions. If you get stuck, ask a friend, a techie, or a last resort, Mrs O'Hagan. I am expecting you to know more than me by the end of this project!
The following are web 2.0 tools (most are unblocked at school) that we are going to use to convey our learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. Each group will work on a different web tool to convey their learning, so be prepared to be challenged and creative.

Booksie

This allows you to publish short stories and poetry on the internet for other people to read it. We will be writing poems and then publishing them to this website. We then will add the hyperlink to your published work on your wiki page.

Bubbleshare

This creates a moving slideshow of photos and embed the show into your wiki. Hopefully this site will be unblocked by the time we want to use it. You must make sure that you have permission to use photos for photos from the internet. This site is really easy to use. We have a class account for this, or you can create your own account - remember give yourself a nickname - NEVER use your full name.

Class Tools

This site allows you to create games and graphic organisers that you can embed in your wiki. Ask Mrs O'Hagan about getting the HTML code to do this.

Flashgear

There are a number of different tools here, which are more fun than anything else. You can create a jigsaw, an opinion poll and a few other useful things. Again, it will give you the HTML code to embed on your wiki page.

Flickr

This is a storage space for photos. We have a class account for this. You can use this to upload photos to and then get the code to embed them into your blog. Ask Mrs O'Hagan about where to find the HTML code for the photos - it is hiding.

Make Signs

This site allows you to generate signs and word games. It is quite fun. You need to generate your sign and then Save As the picture to your Photos Folder. Then you upload them into flickr to get the HTML code to post them on your blog or you simply upload the image to the wiki site.

News Article

This site allows you to generate a "real" newspaper clipping. (Hopefully thisnewspaper.jpg site will be unblocked by the time we need it). You need to generate your sign and then Save As the picture to your Photos Folder. Then you upload them into flickr to get the HTML code to post them on your blog or you simply upload the image to the wiki site.

Puzzlemaker

This is where you can generate crosswords etc - most of you know how to use this site already. If you do not - ask one of your classmates.

Slideroll

This is a site that allow you to create slide show that actually looks like a video. You must make sure that you have permission to use photos for photos from the internet. This site is not as user friendly as some, but if you have a good play around with it, you will find you can do some really cool stuff. I think we can then even upload our shows to teachertube. We have a class account for this, or you can create your own account - remember give yourself a nickname - NEVER use your full name.

Slideshare

This is a site that allows you to upload your PowerPoint presentations to the internet and then post them on your blog or wiki. This is really cool as it gives us more reason to use PowerPoint. ONE key thing to remember, is that it just shows the full slide - so your powerpoint SIMPLE!!

Teachertube

This site allows you to post videos - although you have to over 18, so we will use my account. To do this you will need to create your video using slideroll or ???? and then Mrs O'Hagan will show you how to upload to her account.

ToonDoo

This site allows you to create cartoons. The characters and backgrounds change regularaly, so you will never get bored! It gives you the HTML code to embed into your blog and wiki. We have a class account, or you can create your own account. Remember - use a NICKNAME.

Zoho

This site allows to create documents, spreadsheets and slideshows online. This means that you can be working on a document at school, at home, or anywhere online, save it and then work on it somewhere else. It does not have the same features as Microsofts features, but it is simple to use. It also allows you to upload documents to your hard drive, however because of the limited features, you need to becareful that it is just plain text. Create your own account - remember to use a nick name.

3DTextMaker

This allows you to create animated banners like the one at the top of the page. Save the image and then upload it to your wiki.
